NC leaders meet stranded passengers in Jammu | KNO

Jammu, February 11 (KNO): Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal, Additional General Secretary National Conference along with Vijay Bakaya former Chief Secretary and Advisor to National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah met a group of stranded people on the steps of the office of the Divisional Commissioner Jammu on Monday in presence of DC Jammu Ramesh Kumar and gave a patient hearing to them. According to a statement issued to KNO, they pleaded for urgent transport by Air to Srinagar as they do not have means to stay in Jammu any more particularly girl students. Dr. Kamaal and Bakaya pleaded with the DC Jammu to do whatever is possible on the analogy of such occasions in the past. Ramesh Kumar DC Jammu directed them to attend his office premises and yatri Bhawan to ensure their entry in the list of stranded persons and give their contact number. He also informed that a batch has been airlifted and request for more sorties has been made to the defence Ministry GOI and it was hoped that the same would be made available within twenty four hours. Attention of DC was drawn to the plight of a young student along with her guardian who had spent all the money she had. He assured all possible help to them. Dr. Kamaal hoped that Govt of the state and GOI will spare no effort to mitigate the suffering of stranded people and appealed to the civil society of Jammu to throw in their lot to provide succor to the stranded.(KNO)
